We have worked with Epson for a number of years on their exhibition stands and for The Print Show we were asked to design and build a bespoke 8 x15m stand. The stand needed to showcase & demonstrate Epson’s range of large-format, fine art & photography, textile and label printers with digital dye-sublimation fast becoming a mainstream technology focus.

The stand concept was designed taking inspiration from Fashion and print designer Richard Quinn, who uses dye sublimation on Epson SureColor inkjet printers to create his stunning collections consisting of bold clashes and retro florals.  Richard has collaborated with Epson on other projects, and was keen to be involved again so a boutique-style area of the stand was incorporated and decorated with wallpaper bearing Richard’s latest graphic print designs with mannequins clad in his trademark body stockings showing off his latest Fashion designs fresh from the recent London Fashion Week Show hosted by Liberty London.

Other contributors included Fotoba who gave Epson use of a Print Cutter along with Adkins who loaned a Heat Press to show full end-to-end solutions in context, and Italian specialist SubliTec who use dye sublimation via Epson printers to create an extensive range of consumer products and loaned an impressive collection of plastic, glass, metal & ceramics for the gallery-style sample area.

All stand graphics were printed at Epson HQ so the stand itself was a unique & literal showcase of the print quality & diversity achieved with the products being demoed on the stand with wallpaper, vinyl, posters, t-shirts and bags being just some of the media on display.

To give branding at height and distribute product focussed lighting an integral part of the design was a rigged roof structure to create a catwalk runway feel.

The overriding design objective and evolving challenge as the project progressed, was to bring together these various statement elements whilst retaining the clean gallery environment.

Aside from the trade show itself, we also assisted Epson with an organised press event making the short trip from their stand at the Telford International Centre to Epson’s ink cartridge factory for a tour.
