Here’s what you need to know about our latest recruit:
Roots In Technology
My entry into the events industry has definitely been via the technology route. With my Entertainment Technology degree completed, I secured my first role as an onsite interactive producer with IML, now known as Crystal Interactive. At the start of my career I was involved in running voting systems for events, however after a couple of years I transferred into the logistics team, where I was responsible for arranging and sending crew and kit around the world for global events that required event tech solutions. After my maternity leave, I returned to the business to head up the launch and delivery of event apps and smart wearables.
With over 10 years’ experience within the events sector, it was important for me to find the right next role; a role where I could work with a fantastic team; a position where I could manage multiple projects simultaneously, delivering against critical deadlines and to budget; a job where I could put my problem-solving abilities into use and drive positive results. Then In2Events came onto my radar, and the role of Logistics Project Manager, which encompassed all of the above, as well as the opportunity to work with a broad spectrum of clients. After visiting In2Events offices and meeting the whole team, my decision was made; their culture and attitude was infectious – who doesn’t want to be a part of that?
Why Is Event Marketing So Important?
I believe live events are a crucial channel for businesses and brands to incorporate into their wider marketing communication strategies. It gives them the opportunity to meet their prospects and customers face-to-face and the chance to convey, in a powerful way, their key messages and product and service offerings to a targeted audience. Well thought-out and professionally executed events bring people together to collaborate, to achieve and to grow in the context of their individual industries.
Your Take On The Evolution Of Events
With a background and specialism in event technology, it’s been really interesting to be part of the evolving landscape of events, and to see first-hand how new technology, in its many forms, has impacted the event industry; particularly in reference to increased audience engagement, the ability to personalise delegate experiences even further and the opportunity to generate and collect valuable data insights. In my opinion, integrating relevant technology into an event can really set an experience apart in the minds of attendees, and optimise their interaction with a brand.
It’s fantastic to come into a team who thrives on the concept of making every aspect of delivering their event management service AMAZING. It’s easy to say things are amazing, but here it’s core to the way In2Events operates, and it’s an approach that works. Events are about people and therefore providing excellent customer service and delighting clients at every touch-point they have with us is what I love to do. When I think of AMAZING in the work that I’m involved in, it means going above and beyond to make sure that clients receive everything they need, in the way they need it, in order to have a fabulous event.
A Quote to Live By
In work and life, I keep a positive and upbeat attitude and therefore I think the saying, “When life gives you lemons, make a gin and tonic” is a great way to surmise how I approach any problems and challenges I encounter.
The team at In2Events is what sets us apart from the other agencies out there. We are the catalysts that inspire and drive results through the power of live events and experiences.
