Happy New Year and welcome to the first In 2 Events newsletter of 2010. It’s time to banish those post-Christmas blues and embrace the freshness of the New Year, and it certainly has been fresh! This January edition of the In 2 Events Newsletter provides you with helpful pointers on your journey with us through a profitable 2010.

Trends for 2010

At In 2 Events we like to keep up with any technological, cultural or economic trends that 2010 may bring. To help you look ahead we have provided the Top 5 trends that should sculpt how you approach events in 2010.

1.    Stores fight back! To stem the tide of year-on-year increases in online shopping, look out for your in store experience to change dramatically. We are predicting the explosion of in store events to fully engage the shopper and encourage offline shopping. So the next time you visit your local shopping mall, it may be one of In 2 Events displays or lighting effects that grabs your attention.

2.    The return of print! There is no doubt that the digital age has taken us firmly in its grasp and it certainly shows no sign of letting up. However, companies are regaining their faith in tangible print materials and we predict an increase in our print management demand in 2010.

3.    E-asier event organising. Whether it is your company exhibiting or holding the event yourself, it’s easier and simpler to plan, arrange and execute all aspects online. It is commonplace to fill out Health and Safety forms online but we expect more in 2010. From digital invitations that can book all catering requirements and accommodation, to online resources that allow attendees to re-visit any part of the show that may have been missed.

4.    3D. It’s not all green and red glasses that come free with the Funday Times these days. Cinematic advances in films such as Avatar and Toy Story 3D have meant that audiences are beginning to expect so much more from their viewing experience. This will flow over into all aspects of event management, pushing the envelope of what is expected from exhibitions.

5.    Shame on you! In the Noughties we were... well... naughty. We predict that spare time will be taken up with more and more activities that are designed to expand our grey matter. This can only mean that exhibitions which are thought provoking and educational will be in higher demand and attendance will increase. Sending staff to attend these tailored events will broaden their experience and help fulfil their potential.
