We were re-appointed to deliver the Capital Dynamics EU Annual Investor Meeting 2014 after a very successful event we ran in 2013. We were tasked with finding a central London hotel with a variety of meeting space that could accommodate us over the period of a week and have enough rooms for everyone to stay onsite.
We had to find a hotel that was understated but faultless in regards to service as well as an offsite dinner location that would act as an incentive for people to come to the event and one that was iconic and also had to top the Silver Sturgeon dinner cruise that we put on last year.
To support the event, we were asked to create an online registration site for the event, e-flyers, hard copy invites, a feedback survey post-event, as well as managing all accommodation requests and to be onsite for the week to manage the event itself.
Despite looking at a multitude of different options, we decided on the Sofitel St James as the venue. It’s central location, convenient meeting space and refined elegance made it the perfect choice for the conference.
Delegates were kept up to date with regular e-shots as more information about the venue and agenda was released. The e-shots were built and all data was collected using our leading registration platform, Status. This meant everything was controlled from one central portal ensuring all delegates received communication and attendance and logistics could be managed with ease.
We then looked for the offsite dinner option, we considered rebooking the dinner cruise as it was the high point of the 2013 conference, but we decided to try something different and went with Searcys at The Gherkin. This proved to be a very wise decision as there was a huge storm on the night of the dinner which was amazing to watch from the top of
As has been tradition over the past couple of years, Capital Dynamics invited over some musicians from a music school they sponsor with In2Events organising for a grand piano to be delivered to the top floor for the performance.
The Sofitel accommodated our changing requirements very well and the event was such a success that we are already looking to confirm next year’s event.
Once again we were able to create a memorable evening for the guests of Capital Dynamics thanks in no part to the British weather. However, The Gherkin worked fantastically well for the evening dinner, providing some breathtaking views of London and fitted the brief perfectly.
We had some very positive feedback from all involved and now have the tough task of trying to emulate the success of the last two years for next years AIM.
