BRIEF:

Cochlear, the global leader in implantable hearing solutions, contacted In 2 Events for help in organising their annual Kick Off event for 30 members of their sales and marketing team. In 2 Events has been involved with the organisation of this event annually for the past couple of years and it always puts a smile on our face when a client comes back again and again. This year Cochlear wanted to find a venue that would be ‘extra special’; a reward for the staff’s hard work and to motivate them for the coming year.


The event was to take place over three days and Cochlear required In 2 Events to come up with a teambuilding event that would take place on the second day. The team have all taken part in several teambuilding activities in the past, so it was important we suggested something that would be new and exciting for everyone involved.


Cochlear also turned to In 2 Events to help with the theming and dressing of the venue, the little touches over the three days go a long way and Cochlear wanted In 2 Events to get their creative hat on to help make this event eye-catching and a little bit different.

SOLUTION:

In 2 Events provided Cochlear with several venue suggestions and after site visits with the client, and a couple of lunches to taste the food, the Four Seasons Hampshire was chosen. The service, presentation and facilities offered at the Four Seasons really stood out and and we all believed this venue was going to give the attendees the ‘wow factor’ we were looking for.

 
Cochlear scheduled a BBQ and gala dinner for the event and In 2 Events were responsible for all the dressing and theming; these dinners were taking place in the same location as the conference so we wanted to transform the space so it was more relaxed and casual for the BBQ and would then ooze elegance for the gala dinner.  The look on everyone’s faces when they entered the room meant we had achieved our goal!


For something a little bit different In 2 Events also worked with the venue to develop an exclusive cocktail for the event. Staff then had to guess what was in the ‘Cochlear Cocktail’ with the winner receiving a bottle of bubbly.


‘The Chocolate Factory’ was chosen for the teambuilding event, a chance for all the staff to compete in teams to see who could make a chocolate that would best represent the Cochlear brand. We convinced the management team to be judges for the competition, something they enjoyed, judging by the copious amounts of chocolate eaten. Everyone had great fun, which was evident by the amount of chocolates that were made, a total of 600!


Only one question was asked by the client at the end of the event, “how are we going to top this event next year?” “Not to worry”, we replied, “we’ve already got a couple of ideas up our sleeve!”
